Every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, British Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Alberta and Quebec, Canada all have unclaimed programs that work to actively locate the owners of unclaimed cash and assets that have either been forgotten or left in the name of someone who is already deceased. Where does all this cash come from?

Typically unclaimed cash comes from holders that include financial institutions, employers, utility companies, insurance companies, retailers, corporations and governmental agencies throughout the United States. Along with State and Federal agencies we work to make owners aware of unclaimed cash so they can rightfully claim it.

Cash becomes "unclaimed" after a holder or business loses contact with a customer for an extended period. The cash is sent to the appropriate government agency to safeguard the funds and make any efforts to find the cash easier. Although the cash will be held in trust for the benefit of the residents until the rightful owners or heirs are located; the government agency will not assume ownership of the unclaimed cash.
